"I would like to express my gratitude to the board
of Self Help, Inc for a grant enabling me to purchase equipment for a bakery
space for my business, The Intergalactic Bread Company. I have been in
business for four years using community kitchens and renting space from other
businesses when they closed for the night. Having my own space has been
exactly the adrenaline my business needed: I am more creative, can keep
more civilized hours, and have finally been able to expand into the busy
wholesale market. I look forward to teaching some cooking classes for
